Your license comes with a year’s worth of updates. Once that year is up, you can keep using your last version of Sketch for as long as you want, without Cloud access — or you can renew again for more updates.

Here’s what you need to know about your Sketch license, based on the questions we get asked the most. If you don’t find your question answered below, feel free to contact us.
Buying a personal Sketch license for the first time will cost $99 USD and include a year’s worth of updates. Renewing your license will cost $79 USD and include another year’s worth of updates.
Volume licenses for multiple devices are also available:
Devices | 1–19 | 20–49 | 50+ |
---|---|---|---|
New license, per device | $99 USD | $89 USD | $79 USD |
Renewal, per device | $79 USD | $79 USD | $79 USD |
You can also add new devices to an existing license at any time. The price of each new device follows the table above, prorated to the time left on your license. You can use the calculator on our Add Devices page to see how much a license will cost you for the number of devices you need.
We also offer free licenses for educational institutions, and a 50% discount for students and teachers with valid ID and proof of eligibility. See our education discounts.
Your license is valid for a year from the date you purchase it. For example, if you purchase your license on 28th January, 2021, you’ll get regular updates to Sketch up to and including 27th January, 2022. To receive updates after that date, you’ll need to renew your license.
An active Sketch license also enables you to upload your documents to our Sketch Cloud service.
If you don’t want to renew your license after it expires, you can continue to use the version of Sketch that you have, for as long as you want, but you won’t be able to receive any further updates. You will no longer be able to upload new documents to Cloud, but you can still sign in to:
Any documents you previously uploaded will stay on Cloud until you choose to remove them. If you decide you want to renew at a later date, that’s fine — you’re welcome back at any time.
