How do I register Sketch?

There are two ways to register and use the Sketch Mac app — with a license key or with a Sketch Account (for shared team workspaces — also known as Sketch for Teams).

If your trial has expired, you’ll be prompted to register Sketch when you launch the app, and you won’t be able to perform any other actions until you have done this.

If your trial is still in progress, you can click on the notification in the top-right corner of the document window and choose Register Now.

Registering with a license key

Under the Personal License tab, copy-and-paste in the license key from your email. After this, you can (optionally) sign in to the Mac app or create a Sketch Account for Cloud.

Note: When you purchase a license key, it comes with one year of saving to your personal workspace on Cloud. To use this, you’ll need to sign up for a Sketch account and sign in under the Account tab in Sketch > Preferences.

Registering with a Sketch account

Under the Sketch for Teams tab in the registration window, enter your Sketch Account details and choose Sign In.

If you have already registered Sketch with a license key, you’ll need to remove this first by heading to Sketch > Preferences > Account and choosing Unlink Device.

Note: In order to register with a Sketch account, you’ll need to be using version 56 or newer of the Mac app. You can download the latest version from sketch.com/updates.
