Why is Sketch asking for permission to record my screen?

When using Sketch on macOS Catalina you may see a new warning for any apps that capture or record your screen. Sketch needs permission to record your screen in order to sample colors when using the color picker and does not record your screen for any other purpose.

You can change these settings by opening System Preferences on your mac and navigating to Security & Privacy › Privacy › Screen Recording.
