Plugins

Plugins allow you to do even more with Sketch by extending the app’s functionality. They’re mostly created by third-party developers though there are a number of official Sketch plugins too. Some plugins can be downloaded for free while others need to be purchased from the developer.

Finding and Installing Plugins

The best place to find plugins is on our Extensions page. When you find a plugin you want to use, download and double-click on it to install it.

Once you’ve installed a plugin, you can access its features from the Plugins menu.

Managing and Uninstalling Plugins

Choose Plugins > Manage Plugins… to open up the Plugins tab in Sketch’s preferences. From there you can view a plugin’s documentation, disable it, or remove it completely.

Disabling Plugins with Safe Mode

Sometimes, after updates or bug fixes in Sketch, Plugins can behave unexpectedly or cause Sketch itself to hang or crash. To see if this is the case, restart Sketch while pressing . This will launch Sketch in Safe Mode and disable any plugins you have installed. Restart Sketch again to reenable all of your plugins.

Creating a Plugin

To find out more about how you can create your own plugins for Sketch, take a look at our developer site.

Integrations

There’s also a huge number of third party apps that integrate with Sketch. You’ll find integrations for Developer handoff, version control, user testing and more over on our integrations page.
